The blade care kit comes with everything you need to keep your knives shiny and fresh. Carbon steel blades make amazing knives and can last a lifetime if properly taken care. Carbon steel will develop a patina over time which appears as a dark sheen on the metal. Though not harmful in any way, many people prefer that fresh look of shinny steel. Simply wet the blade, sprinkle on some of the scrub, and use the provided scrubby pads to remove the patina and even light rust. Rinse the blade and apply a few drops of the food grade Japanese Sword oil (camellia seed oil) with the microfiber cloth to protect and preserve your new finish.
